Subject: Tile Plow

Hutchinson, MN
We have started looking for a tile plow, but everyone tells you something different. What is the best tile plow to buy? Does it matter if the boot is 4', 7' or 10'? Some argue that with a bigger boot, you loose too much time digging your start hole. Or that you will not get a perfect grade with one or the other.   In my experience from running a backhoe, once you get to the correct depth, an extra 3'-5' is only a matter of a couple minutes per day not hours like some dealers try to make you believe. I know a laser is a must buy, but does it pay to go with the top of the line laser options? It will also be pulled by a 400hp tractor without a 3 point. Most of the tiling will be doing branch lines. TIA
