Subject: Semi drive axle

Tekonsha, Michigan

Guys a friend wanted me to ask if you have any idea why his axle grinds when he shifts from low range to high. Its a 1977 peterbuilt. And he also wanted to know what the 7/8" threaded rod is for sticking out the side of the housing.
