Subject: Second post.............storing E85

Southeast Colorado
With the discussions below on E85.............I would like to use more of it in this new pickup but there aren't any pumps close to me. I've thought about just hauling a 300 gallon tank over and filling it up. That amount would probably last me 3 or 4 months. My local fuel man (who doesn't sell E85 by the way) says that you cannot keep E85 stored very long or it will cause problems. Is this just more mis information or does it have merit? I don't want to create problems for myself. I know all the gas gets a rotten smell if left stored very long so maybe none of it should sit very long. The retailers are probably just afraid that with the lack of its popularity that they might have a tanker load sit for a very long time.
