Subject: Coyotes? Wolves - 400+ lb calf attacks??

Texas
In the last month, I have lost two 400lb plus calves to some sort of attack. The latest occurred yesterday. Seeming fine bull calf (viewed the day before) found dead in the morning with most of its head eaten and part of the neck to about 8" below where the head attaches to the neck. No other signs of trauma or marks anywhere else on the body including the legs. I have had this happen sporadically over the years but it has always been a small calf of less than 150 lbs and there was never much left of the calf. I always chalked it up to the coyotes and wolves but now the animals are much larger.

Has anyone else seen this kind of behavior?

TIA
