Subject: Another dishwasher question

We have a Bosch dishwasher and we were very happy with it's performance. Can't believe it is 12 years old already. As in the post below, was told that we didn't have to pre-wash, and we didn't and worked fine. I have been noticing lately that there is more odor coming from it now. I have to unscrew the thing in there and take out another thing (aren't I good at dishwasher parts) anyway, the food particles aren't completely going down the drain so they sit there and start to stink. So my question, do any of you have to take apart the dishwasher and scrub those parts? Wondering if it is because it is getting old. What is old for a dishwasher? While in AZ, I am the dishwasher, don't have one in the motor home. Also having to heat the water on top of the stove because Dave forgot to drain the water heater and it split. New one ordered.
