Goff Kansas | i know we have talked about this before some time ago, but as of late the basis is starting to get really wide. i suppose from all the selling nearby. but, am i wrong, but the carryout is around 175 or so, should the basis get quite a bit better around June July?? I mean we are almost getting down to pipeline supplies.. If i want to sell beans, should i not do the HTA with my favorite elevator, even though i hate HTA's but hate the huge margin calls worse, and wait on this thing. If i figure the carry tonight, at .36 cents from march to july, and then assume the basis will streghten 10 to 20, i would net an addtional .50 cents. If that is my plan of attack, what do i do if beans go to 15 - 16 or so.. will not the basis probably get worse from the weakening demand, and then i am screwed all the more.. Seems the traditional game plans are getting thrown out the window this yr., or maybe i have not been around long enough to know all the plays.. | |
