Blooming where I am planted! | Thought you might enjoy this picture of a pen I built a couple weeks ago for our new bantam chickens. I spent exactly $0 to build this pen. I built it out of material we had lying about the farm. KSBoy was afraid it would look junky, and while it certainly isn't new material, it serves the purpose. I took an old oil tank platform and put it on its side. Then with baling wire I wired old fencing around the perimeter. Old hog panels are wired to the top for a roof. A hog trough filled with wood chips is for nesting. Old hog troughs on their sides serve to block sun, wind, and rain. A large trimmed tree branch serves as a roost. The waterer and feeder I had on hand already.
