Well here is the first followup post on getting the clutch pulley off the engine so I can remove the transmission. Looked around at some different sites that were posted and found that the clutch removal tool was basically just a threaded rod. Well I got to looking around and found that I have a gear puller with the same fine threads. I threaded it into the shaft and lightly tapped on it with the impact and it came right off. Turns out this pulley is tapered and fits onto a tapered shaft. By running the threaded rod in it just pushes it right off. Now I can get the back of the belt guard off so I can finally get the transmission out. Just wanted to post a follow up and say thanks for the advice thus far.
