Subject: DT 466


GOT A DT 466 IN A INT.4900. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK OUT OF A FLEET DISPERSAL SALE. IT HAD A BAD WRIST PIN SO I BUILT THE MOTOR AFTER I BOUGHT IT FOR A SONG. I FIGURED THEY HAD TURNED THE MOTOR DOWN OR SOMETHING(EX DRIVER SAID MOST FLEET VEHICLES WERE TURNED DOWN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE SO THEY COULDNT HURT THEM WITH INEXPERIENCED DRIVERS?) BECAUSE MOTOR SOUNDS GREAT AND BUILD WENT PERFECTLY BUT IT IS LEAST POPULAR TRUCK WE HAVE. THE GUYS HATE TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT HAS NO PICK UP POWER. I TOOK IT FOR A SPIN AND PULLED ON 4 LANE ROAD AND ALMOST GOT REARENDED BECAUSE IT TOOK WHAT SEEMED LIKE FOREVER TO WIND IT OUT. THIS THING IS A DOG!!! I ALREADY TOOK THE ROUND COVER OF THE TOP OF THE INJECTOR PUMP AND UNSCREWED THE SCREW AT FAR AS IT WOULD GO AND STILL BE ABLE TO PULL OUT THE KILL SWITCH. THAT IS ALL I KNOW TO DO. WE HAVE OTHER 466 THAT WILL RUN CIRCLES AROUND THIS THING. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO GET MORE RESPONSE OUT OF THIS ENGINE??? PS TRUCK IS USED TO PULL GOOSE NECK TRAILER AND 32% TENDER AROUND
