Subject: Slightly Bitter

Blue Earth, MN
An entity we rent from has decided to sell the land at auction. It is their property and they have every right to do with it as they please. I only wish I could have been informed of their intentions a bit sooner. I am having a hard time finding interested investors that are willing to rent it back to us. By short notice, I mean 2 months. I know this is not a unique situation, but I am upset about the fact that they know our operation well and failed to inform us sooner. This is roughly 75% of our tillable acres and I am in a tough spot. It may be time to reconsider my career. What pains me the most, is the fact that my father has no intentions of retiring and he now may be forced into it. Things change, nothing is guaranteed but, it really is more than business. This is a pivotal moment in my life too.
