Subject: Anyone noticing hog slurry smell in their chiseled corn ground?

Oskaloosa, Iowa 52577

We have noticed in two different fields that were corn this year the aroma of hog slurry after chiseling.  Pick up a clump of dirt and the smell is obvious.

My guess is that it is slurry applied in March/April this year that did not get broken down due to the lack of water this summer?

It is pretty much all over the fields......not in just low spots.

Anyone else noticing that?

Haven't pulled soil tests yet, so we might be surprised at the amount of carryforward???
