Subject: Pipe Reel on IH 820?

Northwest Ohio
Have an IH 820 head, currently has wood bat reel with spring metal teeth, with corrugated plastic pipe over top to keep from wrapping.

Thinking about converting over to some type of plastic reel teeth ... either the plastic teeth that bolt on to wood reel bats, or convert to pipe reel that comes with the plastic bats.

What's the advantage of the pipe reel? Pounding less seed out as reel spins? Less wrapping (would like to eliminate the corrugated plastic pipe if possible)? Better visibility? As strong?

Had planned on just going with the plastic bolt on teeth ... but Shoup looks like the pipe reel conversion wouldn't be that much more, which is why I'm considering Thanks in advance for any replies.
