Subject: House a/c change

We had to replace a cracked heat exchanger last winter. Now the a/c won't keep up. We have had them out to check it and they say everything is fine but it won't keep the temp below 80 in the afternoons even if we have all of the shades drawn. We cleaned the coils and they topped off the freon. We have never had a problem like this until we had the heat exchanger replaced. I have always had hot water or ground source units so I am not familiar enough with a normal furnace/ac to know if changing the heat exchanger could have caused this problem with the a/c or not.

TIA
