Milford, Illinois | I have a 25 hp. Kohler Command twin cylinder engine on my Schweiss Zero Turn lawn mower. It is 10 or 11 years old. In the last year I've been having increasingly more problems in hot weather. After the engine runs a while and gets well heated it will backfire a couple times and then seem to not get enough fuel. It doesn't have enough power to keep the rpm's up to speed. It seems like it is running too lean, but choking does little good. I've tried spraying WD-40 down the carb. to try to enrichen the mixture but that doesn't help. New spark plugs and fuel filter don't help. It gets a new air filter every year. It seems like as the heat soaks in to the engine it starts having this problem. After it cools off an hour it will run again. The time it runs depends on the temperature of the outside air . I'm wondering if some kind of ignition problem could cause this but don't know what it might be. Anyone have any experience like this? | |
