Subject: Direct harvesting pintos?

NE North Dakota
Thinking of direct harvesting pintos next year with a MacDon FD 70 on a CR 9060. Does planting in 30" rows with an upright like LaPaz work or do you need to go to a narrow row spacing such as 15"or 7.5"? Anyone seed with an SDX drill? Have read previous posts saying stands are poor and it beats seed up to bad...anything to it? They will be rolled after planting no matter the spacing. Thanks for any input.
