Subject: Trimble EZ-Steer/Guide, Power plugs not cig adapters?

Curious to know if anyone has tried or knows if Trimble has or works with Deere factory outlets (the two vertical one Horizontal) on the side consoles.

The cig lighter works, but sometimes it doesn't recognize the ez-steer on the first go around. Going to Omni this spring for planting, i don't want to wait longer to recognize signal. Dealer keeps saying to buy a direct power connect kit, and its a great suggestion but we've already got power coming off the plug on the console.

On the 9420 there's no additional monitors/draw from the plug, and on the 8100 we've got the 20/20 and the Y-splitter off the plug, would be convenient when moving tractor to use this rather than swap direct power hookups in my eyes anyway.

Has anyone done this? I imagine i'll have to splice the cig lighter wires with the female Deere end, just curious if it works before i start splicing.
