Subject: How loyal are you to an input supplier or elevator?

Charing Cross, Ont.

I have dealt almost exclusivily with a supplier for a few years, now it seems that I'm always chasing him. He doesn't answer his phone, seldom returns a call and when he does it might be 2 days later. I always had good service and pricing from him in the past. Now when I can't get ahold of him I been calling different suppliers, elevators and have been getting better pricing on inputs and crop sales.

It's like he now takes my business for granted. Last year sold 90% of my grain to him, this year 10% he doesn't seem to have noticed. In Dec told him I wanted prices for prepay, he sent a e-mail over a week later, by then it was too late I bought cheaper as it turned out elsewhere. He never did do a follow up.

So my question to you NAT members how loyal are you? Is the past track record with a supplier/elevator worth crappy service now?
