45 miles southeast of KC | I can get pelletized gypsum spread for a little over 10 cents a pound. The company, MK Minerals out of Manhattan KS, recommend 200-400lbs in their info. I'm trying to improve drainage and tilth on clay based west central MO soils that have fairly good organic matter, over 2%, and ph in the 6.2 range. I've been notilling for alot of years but seems like the recent wet springs play havoc with my corn yields both from poor root growth and N loss.
Anybody dealt with this company?
What rate?
How long does a gypsum treatment last?
Would ripping serve the same purpose or just make for a mess at harvest?
I typically spread a dry N product and run a Salford RTS, would NH3 work better?
I appreciate all replies.
