Kansas | Just 39 years old and never seen the crop situation like this. 1.25 of rain yesterday. Close to 200ac of beans left, around 100 of corn left (part of which was standing in water when we left it), 200 of milo, and somewhere around 150 of wheat to plant. All no-til and would really prefer not to mud anything out or in (the wheat). I think getting the wheat planted is what concerns me most as most is going behind the beans but I know if it gets dry enough for getting the beans out it would be another week before it dries underneath enough to plant and not make a mess of it. Now I'm getting to know how the northern folk feel. I don't think drilling wheat into frozen ground will work very good. | |
