What are the advantages or disadvantages of a belt conveyor over a truck auger. For instance a 10" x 31', 10 hp electric truck auger. Will the belt-veyer move more grain with same h.p? I assume belt conveyors are 20% or so higher in cost?

Isn't the loading angle of a belt sometimes a hinderance?

Also seems there would be higher maintenance costs to belt machine with all the bearings, but maybe they last forever?

Augers are pretty simple, often with only a couple bearings and that's about it for maintenance.

But, maybe advantages that aren't obvious. This would be for loading normal corn & beans from bins to trucks.
