| This is the second year in a row I have harvested triticale 3 inches pre boot to fit the harvest window I was given here. Both times protien was in the 13 percent range. It was in the 2000s and early 2010s I could harvest rye or triticale at the same stage of development and expect a minimum of 15 % protien. Tried boosting the nitrogen this year to maybe help. Got more tonnage which was a plus but quality didn't improve much. Somewhat blaming it on the cooler springs the last two years and a little more clouds. Has anyone else experienced the same phenomenom? | |
