Looks like I'm not the only one who can't sleep tonight. I need to lie to my computer. I am trying to use my Dell laptop with XP to program a radio. The software is DOS and running in a DOS window. It is looking for an RS-232 port. My laptop of course does not have one. I do have and RS-232 emulator plugged into a USB, but DOS does not recognize a USB. Can I go into device manager or someplace like that and tell the computer a certain USB port is com 1?
