Where Lewis and Clark finished the rum | Thought I'd give a little update on my farm network. Wildblue into one house at the farm yard, then out of that house using a Tranzeo 6000 with 6 db omni antenna. Nearby houses - within about 800 ft, have CPQ radios, and one house 1.5 mi away has another Tranzeo 6000 with directional antenna (although it has worked with a 6 bd omni). Laptops in the yard work pretty well, even in houses. In fact, I was parked about 2 miles from the 6 db WAP, and was able to browse for maybe 15 minutes, before moving on. using a regular Netgear PCMCIA wireless adapter plugged into my laptop
This has been working pretty well for about 9 months, although the WB needed a little aiming adjustment, as it dropped out on occasion.
May try mobile browsing in my ezsteer sprayer this year - no high tension power line structures in our area :o))
BTW - had tried some consumer units to get this done, and gave up and went the Tranzeo route - pretty happy now.
Would be happy to share more if there are specific questions.
Safe spring to all. |
