Subject: More Hay Fork

Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana
The post yesterday http://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=304481&posts=2... got me wondering about hay forks.

I'd never seen one like the one in that post......all I've seen were like the one below.. We had three barns with this style hanging in the rafters (only one left). I always thought they looked like a big spider (LoL). I even watched a neighbor put baled hay in the mow with one (he didn't have an elevator). I really don't remember how many bales at a time they lifted, but I think it was four. The last few years he did it. I ran an 8N, hooked to a rope, and pulled the bales up.,,,,all I did was pull forward, and then on a signal back up.

I apologize for the photos....the fork wasn't stored in a handy place
