Subject: Planting on soybean row...no-till/Nitrogen credit

EC MN - Hour North of 'The Cities'
I was wondering of the no-till growers out there who follow corn after soybeans, how many plant on top of the previous years soybean row, and why or why not?

Do you feel the nitrogen created by the previous years legume is best utilized by planting on the row if you can clean the surface and old stubble well enough?

Thinking that the majority of the soybeans nodules are closest to the center of the root structure, and maybe this would equal more available N compare to planting off the row. Quicker I can feed my corn earlier in our cooler soils, the better chance I have at a better crop. Trying Google for studies as we speak.

Thanks for your thoughts!
