Subject: GPS Receiver Placement Questions

I bought a JD 4450 last year its two wheel drive and it has auto steer ATU 300 I think and FS1 free GPS from JD. I know that I can't have the best accuracy with the free version and that's not my real question. I will ask is it work to go up to FS2 and will I notice a difference on this set up?
The thing that I notice using it is if I get going too fast it begins to wonder and never keeps the line. Side note the higher subscription must be refresh speed or how many signals its allowed to receive per minute so it increases accuracy. What I notice is that the receiver is placed right in the center of the cab. I'm thinking is that if that is the center point their is a whole lot of tractor in front of it and its like a boat. Should it be placed towards the front of the front of the tractor, would that 2 feet make any difference? Just curious, its a great tractor, the steering is tight and it does a great job I just want slightly straighter rows.

I can post photos of the cab if it helps.
