Subject: Harvest activity happening sooner than expected.

SC Iowa
30 days ago, I would have told you we would be lucky to have much harvest activity going by Sept 20-25......but this heat spell has really changed things, and the corn planted in late April and very early May ahead of the snow event has become harvestable..

Monday we dumped almost 50,000 bushels of new crop corn, and today the number could be 85,000+

old crop corn selling continued longer than expected, so the combination of more old and faster access to new has crashed our basis levels from +100Z yesterday morning to +35Z today as we are now chewing through contract corn we did not expect to see arrive for a week or two...

quality is good.....test weight averaging 55-56 on 22% moisture corn....

and the dreaded aflo has not reared it's head, either
