Subject: Amount of AMS in spray water

NE Indiana
Purdue posted this formula for determining how much AMS you need to neutralize your water for spraying (see the entire article here: AMS Equation)

AMS (lbs/100gal) = 0.005*(Na) + 0.002*(K) + 0.009*(Ca) + 0.014*(Mg) + 0.042*(Fe)

You need a water test from a lab that reports sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and iron, either ppm or mg/L will work.

I plugged in the numbers from our well and I think our water's pretty hard, but it came up with 1.2 lbs AMS/100 gallons of spray solution.
