Checked cows yesterday and had our first cow calve. Think she had twins. She will only take one of them. Brought the other home and gave him colostrum via a tube. Tried to feed him a quart of milk last night and all he wants to do is push the nipple out with his tongue. Same thing this morning. Tired of trying so tubed him a quart..... My question is how do others get newborn calves to suck from a bottle when they haven't sucked from the mother first?
