Subject: Question about highway regulations in ND, MN

Tilley, Alberta
I am considering buying a 30' CIH 1020 straight cut header for our soybeans up here. I want to pull our tongue hitch 2 wheeled header trailer down to pick it up. My path would take me through SK and down into ND and MN. If I was pulling a header trailer, what regulations would I have to be aware of? Does it have to have a ball hitch, or is a tongue hitch with safety chains sufficient? Would I need to have plates to pull it down there, or is a SMV sign enough? Trailer brakes- would they be required on the unit or not (this trailer doesn't have any). Anything else I should be considering?

Thanks

Patrick
