First off the employees drive this truck. So I am getting alot of this info secondhand. I am pretty confident they take fairly decent care of it.

This is 3500. Has almost 150K miles. We pull a 10,000# trailer with it probably an average of 200 miles a week and a 20,000# gooseneck trailer probably 50 miles/wk. We were pulling the gooseneck up a mountain. It started knocking bad and blowing smoke and oil out the breather.

We hauled it into a diesel shop. The diesel tech says: "injectors check out fine; 6th cylinder has very low compression; probably has bad piston ring or scuffed cylinder wall."

It's gonna need fixed, whatever the problem.

My question is: What caused this? The tech says engine overheated for too long.
