We planted 550 ac of dryland oats this year in SW SD with the intention of haying them. Well it rained alot more than usual and hay is abundant so we are combining them and baling the straw. We laid them down and are picking them up which is slow as hell. Binning them on the farm, know of anywhere thats got a niche market for oats and a place to sell oat straw?
Does anyone grow oats anymore?
