| You both are right. We did get to where we are by the past. The good old days suggest an abrupt change but there wasn’t. The old ways gave way to new in a slow, continuous pace. Each passing year brought about changes.
Archie made a good point. In general, each generation wants to help the next have it easier. Even the more selfish amongst us look for ways to make life easier for themselves and help advance the slow march to easier times. Over the years we, as a society, have become very good at reducing labour. Our mentality has changed from “we have a right to work” to “we have a right to paid holidays”.
Watch who makes the most noise in social media and the news. It is almost invariably someone who has way too much time on their hands. The rest of us are quietly working away.
