When I go to the field to replace a gearmotor, gearbox, or u-joint, I take along 4 new u-joints and 2 new drive line shields. They all get replaced unless they have already been switched out to the new style u-joint and drive line shield. The original shields were not that great, and held a lot of mud, the new shields rotate with the drive line and are self cleaning.
