Subject: Pick up truck sprayer questions

Franklin County, Frisco, IL
I currently run a 5 year old Top Aire 500 gallon with 45' boom sprayer, pulled with the tractor. I have a good 1989 Chevrolet 1 ton, single rear wheel, 4x4, 454 gas and auto tranny pickup that I just do not use very much. At times it seems like i could use the sprayer tractor for something else and the truck is just sitting. I use a Raven lightbar for guidance.

My question is, should I consider modifiying my pull type sprayer to some sort of truck mounted sprayer? Should I look to trade it for a pickup sprayer? If so, who makes them? One idea is to just mount a gas pump on the sprayer and pull it behind the truck.

what i spray........ round up burn down, degree extra - pre emerge on corn, usually try to spray the 2nd app on ru beans when they are around 3-6 inches tall.

How happy would i be with the pickup sprayer? I know that it would make better use of the truck.

Factors - rolling clay hills in Southern Illinois. 300 acres. Mostly no till. 1 man operation.

Thanks Jim
