Subject: Beef calves kicking and throwing themselves down... (help)

Fayette Co, Iowa
I'm 3/4 done calving my 52 cow herd. I've never had this happen in over 20 yrs. The past 6 days I've had 2, 4 week old Angus calves kick at themselves and stretch out on the ground.the first time I saw this thought intestinal, or kidney.. called vet he said stomach cramps 10 cc of pen down the mouth, and 2 cc of banimine in muscle. Both popped out of it... question is what causes this?? I caught both on camera in the middle of the night. Obviously in discomfort.. there mothers are good milkers.. the calves are eating loose grass hay, and little creep feed.
