C IL | I will give a super healthy +1 especially to the 5 love languages. I have give that book to all sorts of people I know who are married or considering getting married.
I found when we were struggling early in our marriage, and my wife ‘clearly’ was bad at following, that I was at least equally terrible at leading. So I did some work alone on that which helped, and we did some work together that helped, and she then did some work on her own that helped.
I would like to have a better marriage today than we do have. I’ve decided it is a work in progress. So I try to work on it some more every day. Sometimes that is harder than other times.
I am sorry you are going through these issues. A counselor reminded us that many folks who work through a troubled time in their marriage emerge leaning in and stronger than ever.
I hope it works out for the best.
