I am not sure what you mean -
I have a 25 year old Trane 1200 - never seen frost on it - the thermostat outside on the unit is set to shut off at like 20 ish degrees -
But on max use days - like 20 degrees and windy and cloudy (I really don't need any heat in my house on sunny days) I have still never seen frost or frozen stuff on it or under it on the conc pad
Question for air to air heat pump owners???
