NW Iowa | When I fed hogs it seemed like they didn’t want to load if a storm was predicted. It reminds me of the old saying ‘if the cattle play a storm is on the way’. A trick I learned was to make the hogs go around a corner right before they go out the door and into the chute. That way they don’t have time to see that chute ahead of them. My old barn had room to remodel to create that right angle turn. Newer barns sometimes don’t allow that kind of space. | |
