Embarrass WI | It's uncomfortable to have to fire someone, and you shouldn't do it in a fit of anger. It sounds like you gave him several second chances and he blew them all. Hopefully being terminated will be a learning experience for him.
I had to do that with a young guy a few years back, he had been repeatedly warned and repeatedly screwed up. It was as if he truly didn't believe he could ever be fired. He was incredulous when I told him but it was one part of him learning to be responsible. As far as I know, he's a fairly responsible employee now.
Me, personally, I'd rather not have an employee than an unreliable one. If you know that you have no help, you can plan that way. If you're expecting help and none shows, your plans get messed up. | |
