HappyHank - 2/3/2019 11:47 Has anyone else got caught up in the Wal-Mart gift card scam? My niece sent me a nice card and gift card for my birthday. I went to use the card yesterday at Wal-Mart and when I checked out the lady swiped my card and said there was only $.03 on the card. I called my niece to see how much the card was supposed to have on it, she said it was for $30.00. We decided that gift cards, no matter how handy they are, are no longer in our future. Probably nothing we can do about it, the check out girl wouldn't give the card back to me. !. There is a list of all transactions and times for every card. 2. The cashier stole .03 from you if that's all that was left. 3. I would go right back to that walmart and ask to have the card back. Probably out of luck as there is no name attached. 4. I think the cashier was the one doing the scam and she got $30.
