NC Iowa | I was recently prescribed oxycotin for pain control following shoulder surgery. I took it as prescribed for ten days. I think my pain was controlled, and I had no problems stopping when I felt it was no longer needed. I still have some left, but see no reason to take them. Maybe I'd I had been on them longer, or taken more than one every four hours, there would have been issues. Most should be aware of the possibility of addiction if misused. That was clearly stated in the information sheet that pharmacist provided.
