Subject: RE: Dental work in Mexico?

Buster is talking about Dave, he has had about 18 crowns down in Mexico near Yuma AZ. All worked out just fine, except one the root died and needed an implant. I was too afraid to go down there. It is not a fancy place, but it is clean. The reason I didn't go was I have joint replacements and had worried about infection. Back in Wisconsin, I was having trouble, my ear and jaw hurt. Went to doctor, couldn't see anything wrong with the ear. Went to the dentist specifically told them about my jaw and they took xrays and told me I needed two crowns, but not where it hurt. I had that work done and they said I needed a deep cleaning, did that and didn't help. Ended up going at least 5 times. So I thought I must be nuts. Well, it continued to bother me and I decided I would take a chance and took my antibiotic before having them check my teeth. Dentist said I needed a crown and then decided I needed a root canal. So I would have to come back for the specialist. Went back and he worked and worked on it. Kept looking at the xrays and said there was something there and I needed gum surgery. Had to come back for another specialist. He peeled back the gum and found some infection. Put me on more antibiotics and off I went. No problems and no pain. Now I am not saying that the dentists down in Mexico are all like that. You cross the border and they call out to you, "hey lady, you need a dentist" You don't want to go to those guys. We went on recommendations of friends that had gone there a long time. That is out experience so far. Dave and I would never have been able to have that work done in the states.
