se montana | I'm 44, and didn't really do anything but work until about 4 years ago. Unfortunately, the majority of the kids were grown and gone by then. I'm finding myself a lot more interested in recreation and travel nowadays, but still get things done at home.
In the past few years, I've seeded a fair amount of cropland back to grass, and upgraded a bit on machinery to try to minimize my seat time in equipment.
As far as the money - my only goal is to have enough to retire comfortably, and I still think I've got a long way to go, but its disappointing to say the least that 80 hr weeks don't earn much more cash at the end of the year when you are fixing fence for yourself or caring for your own livestock.
I am also surrounded by friends/neighbors/family with health issues.
Life is really short - make it count.
