Not exactly but in recent years, I am in my 70ies, I realized that I am one of the oldest cousins on both sides of my family and although the 5 cousins older than me are still alive several younger ones are gone as well as a couple of spouse of younger cousins and I only have 1 aunt still alive so kind of leaves me as the oldest in line.
No sudden realization just a gradual acknowledgement that time keeps marching on.

Only other time period would have been when I was still in my 40ies and there were a couple of other farmers just a few years older than me that died suddenly.

I guess what you have to do is realize average life expectancy is in late 70ies and someone has to live past that date to make up for those who did not live that long.

Just keep on keeping on as long as you can and enjoy what life offers, a little bit every day.
