This is deal: We give them our food and $500 billion and they give us cheaply made gizmos in return. Why can't we find some other banana republic to give our $500 billion yearly to so then they can start to afford protein and buy our food in return? China isn't the only place in the world with substandard working conditions, cheap labor and lax environmental regulations.
Don't we actually fit the definition of a banana republic. We ship our raw materials to Asia where they process it into consumer goods and sell them back to us? |
