| Walmart's price for milk varies by store. Being old enough now to take the time to go shopping with my wife and not worry too much about farm work, we have been to more than several walmart's in IL, WI, and MI the last few weeks. In as little distance as 20 miles, milk can be 2.50 or so a gallon or 1.50. I have seen as low as $0.88. In Wisconsin, at several Walmart's from north tip to southern border, varied from about 2.50 to 1.88. Now that is for Walmart's branded milk. Prairie Farms milk was considerably higher. Why the variation in milk prices over short distance I do not know. One of the store workers I talked with said it depended on the poverty rate in the stores sales area. Do not know if that is true. | |
