There is certainly big risks being a middleman but some pretty good paydays as well. I suppose we could get together and charter a cargo ship cut the middle man out, but it doesn't usually happen except locally (ship direct to end user - livestock, ethanol, etc). Of course if it goes on long enough even the Chinese will find a way to buy more direct which is a function of the market.
