How do I check the main drive clutch to see if it is slipping? Also how can you tell if the pulleys are worn?

I’d start with the machine cold with the new belt on and go see if you can replicate the loss of RPM you were seeing. If something still slips, see what is heating up the fastest.

Worn pulleys will have belt grooves that have the sides worn off like the groove is in the process of becoming a U shape instead of a nice straight sided V. The fan pulleys wear the fastest because they have only one groove, run fast, and transfer a lot of horsepower at times.
