Beresford, SD | Great genetics, aggressive implanting, high protein, higher roughage, long feeding periods produces the best chance for me to make money. But, I sell live and raise all my own feed. Fellow farmer feeder told me...."what's time on a steer". So what if it takes 3 weeks longer to finish a calf fed, totally different if your running a hotel.
More to answer your question, primarily it's genetics. But matching the feeding program that fits the cattle is probably just as important. | |
